Word invented by Randall Munroe for his XKCD comic book, where it is a password dreamed by anyone who has ever called a technical support attended by unqualified personnel, since just uttering it is communicated with an engineer is communicated with an engineer trained to understand our consultation. It is formed by the word shibboleth united with leet, to imply that it is the way to recognize oneself among the best prepared in technology.
Of Hebrew origin, this word today is used as a synonym for "holy and sign" between groups of belonging, defining concepts that are themselves - even exclusive - of a community. Similarly, it also serves to recognize who does not belong to the group. It is taken from the Old Testament, where in the book of judges (12: 6 ) the Gileadites made those who tried to cross the Jordan River pronounce the Hebrew word 1513; 1460; 1473; 1489; 1465; 1468; 1500; 1462; 1514; (yibulet "path, current" ) but since his Ephraimite enemies did not have in their tongue the first consonant, they did not pronounce it correctly and said 1505; 1460; 1489; 1465; 1468; 1431; 1500; 1462; 1514; (sibulet "punishment, suffering" ) , so they were then recognized and killed.
Originally used in English, the word leet or 1337 ( pr . liit) comes from the elite French (elit "elite, chosen, privilege group") and is used in computer communities, hackers or gammers, as a reference to the best or most respected. It is also the graphic language and type of text they use to communicate, often replacing letters with numbers or other characters. See numeronym .
Poetic form with meaningless text; it can also be a prose, whose values are in its harmony, in the aesthetic combination of its words and its cadence. The name was taken by the Mexican Alfonso Reyes from a poetry devoid of meaning that Mariano Brull taught to recite his daughters (1929).
