Plural of Tepuy . In Pemón indigenous language that is of Caribbean origin, it means mountain. It is a special geological and orographic formation, in which plateaus with very abrupt and vertical edges are presented. They are characteristic of the Guyanese Shield. They can be found in Venezuela ( Montes Roraima or Sierra Pacaraima, which belong to the Canaima National Park), Brazil, Guyana and Colombia ( Serranía de Chiribiquete ).
