It is a common ornamental tree in Tropical America and the Caribbean. Its scientific name is Caesalpinea pulcherrima, of the family Fabaceae. Tabachin is the name you give it in Dominican Republic. Some also say Clavellino, Acacia red, Ponciana and flamboyant. In Colombia we say Girardot Acacia.
