Puyol: Spanish Pujol and bench and in Valencian also Puchol, Puzol or Puçol, surname and toponymic Spanish from catalan origin derived from the medieval latin podiolum ( mound, Hill 41, diminutive of podium which in classical latin was a tier of the amphitheatre with preferred seating and also lateral pedestal around the temples that had steps only on the front.
