ondero

hip is incorrectly written, and should be written as "Slingers" being its meaning:
Ancient soldiers who fought with slingshots that made of skin, or vegetable braids or mane or nerves of animals to throw stones a distance. They were the first to enter combat and used three types according to the distance from the enemy. Slings that did not use wore them on the head and only protected with a goat skin. Both the Carthaginian army and Roman legions were very effective and valued the Balearic slingers. The Romans called them funditores.
