camerún
  12

1º_ The Republic of Cameroon is an African country. The name comes from the Portuguese name Rio dos Camarões ("river of shrimp") for that region, which into Spanish comes by the French (Cameroun) or English (Cameroon) version, because both sound similar to 'Cameroon'. Perhaps there is also some influence by the name of the Kanem-Bornu empire, which ruled the territory before the arrival of Europeans. 2º_ It is also the name of a volcano and its mountain range.
