A purported etymology would come from the Latin pantex, icis ( "belly, intestine") , by the belief that obese people would be less nervous. 4th_ Chorizo sandwich; it is an acronym for bread (cooked dough) chorizo apocope (sausage), although in Latin it was already said panticis to whatever "sausage" was. In Argentina and Uruguay it is just a sausage sandwich (sausage), and the sausage sandwich is called choripán. See morcipán .
