In South America, and especially in the Andean countries, it is a hat woven in wool that covers the ears, to protect themselves from the cold. It is usually colorful and is used by all in cities of height (men, women, children). In Quechua, llacho or llachu is the name of an aquatic plant similar to hyacinth, scientific name Ramex cuneifolius, serving as fodder for livestock. It is located in lakes and rivers. Also called it llach' or or laqo.
