The most used term is Chinchayote, but in Mexico City also say Chanchayote. It is the root or tuber of Chayote ( Sechium edule of the family Cucurbitaceae ) which receives between other names the Guatila, Chayotera, Echinta, Coeza, cook or Patastilla.
