Diminutive of heimatos heima, dress, cloak. Mantle large, quadrangular and enveloping of the ancient Greece, made of wool, linen or byssus, used by men and women on the chiton or without it. When used without a chiton, they called it aquiton. The Romans called it pallium or palla in women, palio dyed with different colors and ended up replacing the robe for your convenience.
