1. m. Astr. Area or blue strip through the center of which passes the ecliptic. It has 16 to 18 degrees of overall width; shows the space which contain planets which only differ from the ecliptic about 8 degrees and comprises 12 signs, houses or constellations that runs the Sun in its apparent annual course, namely, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.
