Zapote.

(Of the nahua tzapotl, any fruit of sweet taste, then applied to the zapote).

1. m. tree family Sapotaceae, about ten meters in height, with straight, smooth dark bark and little resistant white wooden trunk, American Cup Round and thick, leaves alternate, reddish in axillary clusters, and edible, in form of Apple, with yellowish dark, sweet, aguanosa meat, and a thick, black, shiny seed. It is seasoned in the southern provinces of Spain.

American tree in the family Sapotaceae, a 20 m tall, with thick and straight trunk, grey-green bark and whitish wood, pyramidal Cup, something lanuginosas, persistent, lanceolate leaves by underside, white flowers in umbels, fruit drupaceous, aovado, about 7 cm in diameter, with Brown bark, hard and uneven, and the reddish pulpvery soft and sweet, and black, glossy, seeds with white and bitter almond. It exudes a milky juice which coagulates easily.
