súber (from the lat. suber, -eris , cork) m. Bot. Secondary vegetal tissue of protective function that replaces the epidermis and covers the old parts and scars. It is made up of dead cells with a polygonal section and full of air; in the cork oak and other trees it is very developed and constitutes the so-called cork.
