a phenomenon that became known as the arrochelados in the Colombian historiography. The rochelas were incorporated, in principle, by heterogeneous groups of individuals of different ethnic origin - black escaped slave farms, uprooted from their communities indigenous, white fugitives from justice, and finally a myriad of mestizos and mulattos outcasts who did not find a place in the colonial society - which will gather to live, or away and hidden, or as itinerant traveling large areas, but always avoiding being trapped or co-opted by colonial institutions.
