A troja is a supporting, an interlocking built by pickets or Palisades of wood and reeds, used to protect some food items. Its purpose is to keep the plant upright and avoid the fruits to touch the floor, so that fruit can hang, and make more effective growth. This fence is used in Colombia and Venezuela. It is widely used for corn and beans. In Mexico is the place where the harvest of a milpa is carried.
