Discipline which studies the encoding and decoding the linguistic messages, i.e. the processes of emission and reception of such messages. It is a relatively new discipline, fruit of the cooperation of linguists and psychologists. Generative grammar has been assigned to Psycholinguistics some specific tasks that focus on the construction of a model of the performance ( carrying out ) Linguistics. This model must include the model of the competence of the speaker.
