PYROPHILUS from the Greek pyros, fire and philos, love; In the case of plants we speak of pyrophilic plants to which they are attracted by fire, which can manifest itself in various ways. They are trees that help combustion because they resist high temperatures and provide resins, but they are able to survive. In the case of humans we speak of arsonists, people who are fascinated by flames to such an extent that they cause arson. Fungi that appear in burned forests were initially called pyrophiles but were rectified in 1970.
