It is one of the common names of a plant. Piqui or better pyqui in Tupi-Guarani language means fruit with thorns or shell with thorns. The plant called Pyqui or piqui is the Caryocar brasiliensis, also called pequi or souari nut. It belongs to the Caryocaraceae family. In Colombia it is another way to call a marble or crystal ball.
