Piorno or piorna, is a way to call a small shrub, very branched and usually with thorns. It is endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. It is also known as gatuña, cambronera, cambrón, hedgehog, hawthorn, escambrón. Its scientific name is Echinospartum barnadessi and belongs to the fabaceae family.
