The word comes from the Greek verb peripatein 40 walk ) which gave its name to the peripatos, the place where philosophers of this school gave their classes while walking. This Greek word was composed of the prefix peri - ( about ) and patein ( walk ) the latter linked to the English path ( road ) as well as the pad Dutch and farsi path.
