1. m. family tree of the Malpigiáceas, with oval, hairless and shiny on top, leaves tomentose and reddish below, straight, long, terminal raceme with red hair, yellow flowers and spherical fruit, dry, containing three seeds. It grows in the warm regions of the Americas and its bark is used as a Tanner.
