1. f. herbaceous annual, the family of the Cariofiláceas, with stems lying, fuzzy, of three to four decimetres of length, elliptic, narrow and pointed leaves and flowers are small, greenish, in capitate tight and hidden by broad bracts, membranous and silver, and dry fruit with a single seed of mealy albumen. It is abundant in arid places; the BREW of the flowers, their bracts, is generally used as refreshing, and the entire plant has been used in poultices to heal the panadizos.
