It is the name of the Netherlands (European country, mainland part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands), also its language and that related to its nation. The original name of the country is Nederland ("lowlands") for the system of dikes and canals that allowed it to gain territory to the water, even being below sea level, although the Spanish its name came from the French version néerlandais (pr.
