It is the name of a star in the constellation Bootes. In Arabic it receives the names of Marrha or in the complete form The Mara el Musalsela, al-marah al-musalsalah, which means "the chained woman". It is also called h Bootis, 38 Bootis or HD 130945. In Latin it is also called Falx Italica. In Agriculture it is called melga or merga to the camellón, caballón or furrow of the tillage where the seed must be sown.
