This Chileanism is a variant of the Spanish phrase "me importa un pito" (sometimes exaggerated as "me importa tres pitos" ), and is a misinterpretation of "pito" in its meaning of "pico, pene", when in fact it means "pifano, whistle, who plays the instrument". Either way, it is very common to express a contempt using profane words, as in "I care a fuck", "I care about a shit", "I care about a sieso", . . . so the phrase does not lose its meaning. See import a pito and pínfano by origins .
We are in Chile many slang or synonym to call the penis; pico is one of them is a vulgarity say it but is funny with friends, but here were not talking about of pines just Pico in This case is used to say this situation has not relevant for me( I dont care at all, or vulgarity ; me importa un pico)
As well you could use pico to say that someone is sick or bad , swearing; Juan está pal Pico! But just with closer and vulgar friends ;) thanks!
And váyanse todos a la chucha !
Synonyms of me importa un pico are i dont care at all it' s as important as a penis
Used in Chile as well
"When youre angry upset or you dont care"
I care a peak is incorrectly written and it should be written as "I mind a pito." being its meaning:
We in Colombia say " I care a damn " or sometimes " I care a damn ". They mean the same thing. It means that something it has no value, that total is irrelevant. The expected effects of what happened I won't affect. Irrelevant. Even the smallest elements.
