"34 Ethnicity;An outstanding quality of Latin American culture is the wide variety of ethnic groups that consists it. The term 'ethnic' serves to refer to groups of people who differ among themselves in one or more of the following categories: customs, race, religion, nationality and language. In our discussion we want to avoid the confusion of the terms "ethnic" and "racial", but, at the same time, we recognize that racial considerations are often part of ethnic classifications. For example, the three sets that have historically dominated the ethnic map of America Latina-los peninsular ( Spanish and Portuguese ) the indigenous and the *-represent different groups, both racial and ethnic. It should be noted here that the race is only one ingredient of ethnicity and not necessarily defining.
