Mantilla.

(Of the Dim. of mantle).

1. f. silk garment, blonde, wool or other tissue, sometimes adorned with tulle or lace, used by women to cover the head and shoulders in celebrations or solemn acts. They attended mass with mantilla and peineta.

2. f. wool garment or other cloth for shelter and wrap to children above the diapers. U t in pl. with the same meaning as in sing.

3. f. cloth covering the back of the horse.

4. f. Impr. Cloth or canvas, as in the

Tympanum of the hand presses, or wrapped around the cylinder of printing machines, served so it does not suffer the letter and leave good impression.

5. f. pl. Gift for one Prince to whom he was born a son.
