The Kupay is a tree belonging to the genus Copaifera. More than 80 species of them are known. They are of medicinal use and benefit for firewood and charcoal. Seeds removed an oil that is healing. They belong to the family Fabaceae. The word Kupay is of Guaraní origin. In Colombia we call it oil.
