It is a word of Nahuatl language, means big rooster, gallipavo, domestic Turkey. They also say Turkey. There are only two species of Turkey: the Turkey common or domestic ( Meleagris gallopavo ) and the Kuts, Wild Turkey, Monte Turkey or Turkey Oceolado ( Meleagris ocellata ). In Colombia we call them Piscos.
