1. adj. Zool. It is said of certain fish anacantos, symmetric and of good size, characterised by their elongated body, embedded pelvic fins to the body ahead of the vertical of the pectoral and dorsal and anal soft, occupying almost the entire body; e.g., the cod and hake.
