The correct term is calabash. Calabash is the plural of guira. It is a musical percussion instrument, of the ideofonos class. Metal unlike the guiro is or bangano that is capacho, gourd or pumpkin. Guira is the name that is le da in the Dominican Republic. It is equal to that in Colombia we call plows or Guacharacas.
