It has large leaves elliptic, entire, glossy, with five or seven ribs longitudinal, petiolate lower and abrazadoras from above, yellow flowers that are hacecillos at the apex of the stem and in the armpits, fruit capsular, ovoideo, with many seeds and root thick, fleshy, reddish yellow, strong odor and taste very bitter. It is used in medicine as a tonic and febrifuge.
