FELIPISMO There has been a lot of FELIPISMO in Spain through the ages. Beginning of the sixteenth century: the supporters of Philip the Beautiful, opposed to the Fernandists or supporters of Ferdinand the Catholic. ? Sixteenth and seventeenth centuries: the supporters of the successive kings called Philip (Philip II, Philip III and Philip IV -especially those of the latter, during the uprising of Catalonia-) ? EIGHTEENTH century, during the War of the Spanish Succession: the Bourbons, Angevins or botiflers (supporters of Philip of Anjou or Bourbon), contrary to the Austrians, imperials, vigatans or maulets (supporters of Charles of Austria or Habsburg) Late twentieth century: the followers of the president of Spain, Felipe González, differentiated within the PSOE from the guerristas or supporters of Alfonso Guerra.
