Mata of the family of the Labiatae from four to six decimetres high, with woody stems, the leaves are elliptical, almost linear, integer and somewhat hairy, blue flowers in spike of very long, slender peduncle, and grey ellipsoidal seed. The plant is very aromatic, and mainly of the flowers used extensively in perfumery essential oil is extracted.
