1. m. tree of the family of Rosaceae, of four to six metres tall, with thorny branches, leaves are hairless and sawn, white, fragrant flowers and corymb, and ovoid fruit coated in reddish and tender skin that holds a sweet pulp and two almost spherical ossicles. Its wood is hard, and the bark is used in dry cleaning and as a Tanner.
2. m. Arg. The name of some species of small trees belonging to the family of the legume, divided leaves, scented flowers arranged in spherical inflorescences, and dry and indehiscent fruit.
