Meaning of entimema

entimema: It is a term used in Logic. It means that it is in the mind, that it is in the mind or thought. Something obvious, logical or implicit. That's supposed to be known. It is a syllogism that is eliminated by the conclusion or one of its premises. It is also called truncated syllogism.; Entimema is an irregular syllogism that has analytical form, where one premise is contained in another.; The best-known enthymeme in the history of philosophy is that of Descartes: I think, therefore I exist. The full argument would be: all beings who think there are, I think, therefore I am. The Greek term enthymema enthymematos means thinking, reflection, reasoning.
