It appeared in Japan (which already has an ideographic type script) and then spread to everyone. Monochrome emojis are usually incorporated into fonts in specific unicode blocks ( Miscellaneous Symbols , Dingbats , . . . ) , but if a graphic and color applications or OS are available, the applications or OSes make a replacement.
