"Pallona" : Written word , -I understand- , with "ll" not with "y" , and this because it is the person who describes it "Spanish speaker and live in Galicia" and in Galician there is no "y" . However it is a word that in my childhood, -I speak of the years 1970 to 1980-, was very popular at least among the children of the city of VIGO, which is where I live and I think it is a word of Galician scope and very local. Nowadays I have barely heard it again, but anyone of the time referred to, knows it perfectly. I think it is a "word" that the Castilian-speakers said but trying to galicianize the expression. . . The definition would be, in strictly sporting terms, a beating, a thrashing, a very heavy defeat, an avasalle, in short "a pallona", in Galician could be defined as a "malleira", but in this case the term malleira, mostly, is applied when it comes to a physical beating to another person and the peculiarity of the pallona is that it is applied exclusively for sporting events, to the sporting heavy defeats . A person is not given, -it was not said-, a pallona (beating) to a person. RESUSCITAMENT . The definition of "PALLONA" : In exclusively sporting events, very wide defeat, avasalle, beating, very bulky result that a team manages to endorse the opposite. Some synonyms, words or similar expressions can be sportingly speaking: beating, thrashing of scandal, avasalle, malleira 40, galician 41,
