Second European river flow and length: 2 811 miles with this name, and 2 857 including the 46 km from birth in the Brigach River prior to the confluence with the Breg, of smaller length, in Donaueschingen, in the Black Forest, Germany, to its mouth in the Black Sea, in 40 Romania; the first is the Volga: 3 700 km ). In its course, by 10 countries, is called in five ways: 1 ) Donau in Germany and Austria; 2 ) Dune in Hungary; 3 ) Square in Slovakia; 4 ) Dunav in Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Ukraine; 5 ) Formed in Moldova and Romania. In the lower course of the river has been called Greek Hister, Ister in Latin, centered in Spanish. Danube comes from Latin Danubius or Danuvius, and this 'loan' of Celtic ( 41 Gaelic; or possibly Iranian.
