1. adj. Bot. Said woody plants flowering plants, dicotyledons, always green, living in tropical countries, especially in South America. Dan drupe fruit, edible, and are very similar to the Rosaceae, which differ by having zygomorphic flowers, with more or less soldiers stamens filaments, and other anatomical characters; e.g. the hicaco.
