Diminutive of cocho. In Colombia we say cocho to cooked and unfried pork bacon or also to a pig or juvenile pig. So, piglet means piggy, marranito, piglet, suckling pig, piglet. Also cochito is one of the common names of the sea vaquita or porpoise, a cetacean mammal odontocetto of the family Phocoenidae. Its scientific name is Phocoena sinus. Familiarly little means chubby. Nickname for chubby or rolly children.
