It is the plural of campano. It is one of the common names we use in Colombia to describe a tree also known as Saman, rain, cenizaro, ashtray, samanea, tamarind tree. Its scientific name is Samanea saman and is of the family Fabaceae. It does not seem at all to the mahogany ( Family Meliaceae-Swetenia macrophylla ).
