(Etim. disc.;) perhaps of thefr.Bosse or of theit.(bozza).
1. f. piece of rope made firm by one end at a fixed point of the ship, and which turns to the rope, chain, etc., that it works, it prevents it drain.
2. f. Mar. After few fathoms in length, made strong in the bow of the smaller vessels, which serves to tie them to a ship, dock, etc.
