BOOKCROSSING or BC is the originally Swiss practice of leaving in public places, called "the jungle" books already read for other readers to take and continue to do the same. The Swiss, contrary to what might be thought, are very socialist and, when they are in enclosures such as hotels, leave the books already read, which are stored on shelves for a new passenger to take. They do the same with cards, bicycles, toys and other reusable items.
