It is more indicated bizcochuelo , although biscochuelo is also used. Diminutive and derogatory of sponge cake. Cake or sweet bread very fluffy. In Colombia it is one of the delights of Tolima Grande, typical in Espinal. It is made with wheat flour, butter, eggs, sugar and a pinch of salt and another of anise. It is similar to a mantecada. It also exists in Spain and other countries with similar ingredients and similar preparation. In some parts it is also called queque or keke.

It would be a diminutive of biscocho (sponge cake, cooked cookie), but it's actually another dough for another taller, fluffier dessert, which is usually used as a cake base.
