Ayacucho is the name of a place in Peru where the homonymous battle, the last land battle of the American war of independence was fought. December 9, 1824, the Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, under the command of the Liberator army, faced and defeated the Real Ejecito of Peru commanded by Viceroy José de la Serna elpropio, being realists forced to sign the capitulation. This battle sealed the American of the Kingdom of Spain independence, as after the match, the Spanish forces were forced to leave the Mainland definitely.
