"Arrenaphobia". From the Greek árrhen, masculine and -bofia, fear. The word phobia derives in turn from Phobos (Phobos) son of Ares and Aphrodite personification of "fear and dread" according to Greek mythology, plus the suffix -ia (quality). 1 . Irrational, disproportionate and persistent fear of males. Fear appears in the presence of the male or can anticipate it. 2 . Not to be confused with "misandry or misoandry". 3 .
