It is one of the common names in Brazil of the plant, Manihot esculenta, also known as arrowroot. In Spanish it is called manioc, cassava, cassava or manioc. It belongs to the Family Euphorbiaceae. It is the food of the American indigenous peoples most base. Cassava starch and tapioca is extracted from the tubers.
