1. m. shrub in the family of the Esterculiáceas, own tropical countries, where reaches three metres in height, with strong trunk, large, lobed, opposite leaves and dark green, flowers embodied in hanging groups and capsular fruit. The bark of this plant is fibrous, and with it are very resistant ropes.
