It is the name of a genus of about 70 species of plants, usually shrubby and mostly used as ornamental in gardens. Many are native to China and its common name is "nuo mi shu tiao", are known as abelias. Its scientific name is Abelia chinensis and belong to the family Caprifoliaceae. The name is because it was dedicated to the botanical Clark Abel, scholar of the majority of them in China.
